East Maui Animal Refuge - Haiku Maui


There's a friendly sanctuary for injured and orphaned animals on Maui. It's the Boo Boo Zoo, or East Maui Animal Refuge, near 5 corners in Haiku. EMAR is an all-volunteer facility dedicated to saving and helping unfortunate fellow creatures, wild and domestic.



While waiting to see the vet, Sylvan Schwab holds a young injured deer that shares living space with him and his wife Suzie, along with many others. Goats, deer, pigs, birds, dogs and cats all find a safe haven at their home. Their work is incredible, and supported by tax deductable donations from caring people.
