Back on Maui
Back on Maui time...Just got back from a Canadian vacation - we were gone for almost the whole month of July. Canada is a great place to visit, but I have to say it sure is good to be back home.
Here are some things about the mainland that I don't miss at all:
billboards, bugs - blackflies, no-see-ems, horseflies, racoons, skunks, freeways, seagulls, crows, panhandlers, huge crowds.

What I do like about the mainland is: lots of new places to visit, great variety of restaurants, relatives who won't ever make the trip to Maui.

Maui Bacon gets healthy - just for fun
Ok, so when I'm not busy selling real estate on Maui, we like to travel to the other islands here in Hawaii, so I can work at selling real estate from a different location (no rest for the weary). Last week we visited the Big Island of Hawaii and took along my little bacon buddy for some fun. You know what they say about "all work and no play".
We toured the NELHA facility over there and enjoyed the benefits of some 2,000 year old water which is made from really really deep ocean water. The salt is removed and some minerals are put back in. Most of this water gets shipped to Japan, where they sell it as a health food! Maybe there's something to it? I wonder what would happen if you removed all the salt from bacon?
You can even get your very own bacon buddy and join in the fun!

KIHEI OCEANFRONT AND BEACHFRONT CONDOS - PICTURES!Yesterday I was looking at a few Kihei condos for sale and I snapped a few pictures with the back up camera, wishing I had charged up batteries on camera #1. Sheesh, ran out of memory already, not to mention shooting blind, the viewfinder way. But like I always say, it's hard to take a crappy picture on MAUI. How do you like these shots taken from some beachfront Kihei condos?

HAWAII IS SMOKE FREE
On November 16, 2006, Hawai’i celebrated becoming the 14th state to go smoke-free. This law means people can't smoke inside any public buildings, or even near the entrance or windows. Smoking is prohibited in all enclosed or partially enclosed places of employment as well as places open to the public. For a quick overview of what this means, check out the Department of Health website.
Some businesses are choosing not to comply, and allow their patrons to light up while enjoying their meals and drinks. Do you think this is a good idea?
