Huelo Lookout Fruit Stand on Maui

You'll find the Huelo Lookout Fruit Stand on the road to Hana, on Maui. Less than five miles after the official Millenium Trail begins, you can pull over and have a fresh fruit smoothie and pick up some trinkets. The friendly girls will be happy to chat with you and tell you about the road ahead.

Hana Town is further down the road about another 30 miles. The slow winding road along the coastal bays and cliffs is a drive worth making for adventurous types. Incomparable vistas and rushing waterfalls jump out around every bend. Plan on spending a whole day for the drive, with time spent in Hana and surrounding areas.

WAIKAPU GARDENS SUBDIVISION, WAILUKU MAUI

Some local Maui families are now moving into their brand new homes in the Waikapu Gardens Subdivision, located off Honoapiilani Highway in Wailuku.

These homes were sold by a lottery process about 2 years ago. Most of the houses in this 411-unit subdivision by Spencer Homes were priced to be "affordable housing" and were available for owner occupants only. In November and December already there have been 44 sales, ranging from $225,000 to $597,240. Construction continues and more homes will be completed over the next couple of years.

With hundreds more new homes coming on the market, and the prices leveling out somewhat, there is once again hope for ordinary working people to live the American dream right here on Maui. Are you still renting? Call me, and let's talk about how can buy your own home.
